The new Marenco helicopter belongs to the category of multi-purpose, single turbine engine light helicopter. Half of world’s helicopters are in this product category, where the market sector is dominated by the helicopter of 1970’s origin. Marenco’s SKYe SH09 delivers higher performance, higher engine power, lower fuel consumption, longer range, heaviest load capacity and the most spacious cabin in 2.5T class. It is long-cabin helicopter, with user-configurable loading features, high-strength and light-weight composite airframe, single 1000hp turbine engine, Marenco gearbox and power-train, 1-8 user-configurable modular crash-proof seats and high performance-cost ratio. The first type certificate is to be completed in Europe by 2016, while seeking marketing and manufacturing partnership in China. The current SH09 design can be quickly evolved into two adjacent helicopter classes: (1) high performance-cost ratio single turbine, short cabin, 1.5T, 5-seat observer/trainer helicopter; and (2) luxury high-performance twin-turbine, wide and long cabin, 10+ seats.
